The much-anticipated return to the local music scene of SinosiKat, fronted by Kat Agarrado, is about to happen.
After nearly 15 years after their last album made waves in the music business, SinosiKat released their newest single, “Heart Calling,” this February under Warner Music Philippines and Pinoy Soul Records.
During the recent single launch held at 12 Monkeys in Estancia Mall, the singer expressed how the pandemic has altered her viewpoint in life.
“This long pandemic, I was ready to retire,” admitted Kat. “I was ready to relax. I was even ready to leave the music scene.
“But my heart was still calling like I still had something to do. Something to give. I was praying and asking for a sign. The heavens answered. Doors were opening and opportunities started coming in.”
Kat’s new song, “Heart Calling,” has an exciting tempo that sets her apart from her past releases. It’s the perfect tune to highlight her vocal range and style, as she effortlessly reaches those high notes, raps, croons, and shouts. This is definitely Kat’s second coming.
“Heart Calling” is a worthy sequel to their first two albums, “SinosiKat,” which came out in 2007 and 2009, respectively, and their self-titled debut “2nd Album.”
Apart from her successful tracks with the So Blue hitmakers, Kat has been releasing music via Warner Music Philippines since 2022 under the name Trabajo. “Beautiful Kind” and “Sa lyong Mga Mata” are two of her solo hits.
Since she was sixteen, Kat has been a professional singer. She has played in a number of local bands, but “SinosiKat” has been her musical home for almost ten years.
It’s obvious that Kat wants to carry on SinosiKat’s 20-year musical legacy. Since forming in 2004, the band has made a name for itself in the OPM scene.
SinosiKat is definitely back in the music scene, after the group’s lengthy absence from the local performance scene with a fresh hit to brag about, a new album, and consistent tour dates.
