Staying fit can keep you healthy physically, but exercise also boosts your mental and spiritual health, too. Exercising at home has been part of my routine since pandemic started. I’ve been health conscious and doing my best not to get sick and luckily (Thank God) I haven’t had Covid-19. Now that I’m working as a vaccinator in LGU and my duty is office hours, I became lazy to workout. Daily exercise for me helps to relieve my stress and strengthen my body.
Before I am used to of following workouts online. Since I have scoliosis, most of my routine is stretching, yoga and exercises without heavy weight lifting. I admit that sometimes it’s boring to workout alone that’s why I am always excited when I am invited to online events that includes workout class. Now I don’t need to wait for event invitation because I recently discovered Surge Fitness Studio, a newly launched Fitness and Lifestyle Brand that also offers Surge At Home.
Surge At Home offers guided workout classes via Zoom that you can choose to attend on your prefered time. They have 56 various fitness classes like Zumba, Yoga, Core, BootCamp, HIIT and even HipHop Dance Classes.
Surge Objectives
- SAH would like to help the Filipinos be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy especially with the stress and anxiety brought by ECQ.
- Help you get fit in the safety and comfort of your own home and be guided by Certified Coaches.
- Pre-recorded videos uploaded on different social media sites can be helpful but how sure are we that those recommended exercises are safe to do? How do we know that what we are doing is the correct form and movement? SAH comes to the rescue.
- Promote a community of motivating, helping and inspiring each other amid the pandemic.
Surge’s lineup of fitness instructors are celebrities includes Coach Ina Sibug for Yoga, Coach BisMarc Naling for HipHop Dance, Coach Emil Khodaverdi for Surge Bootcamp, Coach John Cuay for Surge Core, Coach Gianna Llanes for Surge HIIT, and Coach Mark Kramer Pastrana, Prince Paltu-ob, Madelle Paltu-ob, Jay Danao, and Kristine Bonifacio for Zumba.
I got curious with the Surge Bootcamp so I chose it to be my first experience in Surge workout class. This type of class helps to gain strength, improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance, and tone the specific areas.
The class started at exactly 6:30 PM and I have the option to turn off my camera but I chose not to because I can challenge myself and let the coach know that I am following all the exercise routines. I also like the fact that our coach asks if we have specific part of the body we’re targeting to improve. The class lasted for an hour and I like the feel of adrenaline rush, I think my body will be craving more for it. What I love about working out with a class makes it more engaging, it’s like you’re in an actual class.
