The age-old tradition of drinking tea has evolved to adapt to modern times. In Taiwan, the bubble tea industry has flourished exponentially, with neighboring Asian countries quickly catching on to the “bubble tea craze.” Here in the Philippines, shops and stalls have popped up at almost every corner of every populated area. Whether in a major city or small town, one is sure to find a bubble tea shop ready to serve classic fruit-flavored teas or the more favored milk tea.
As the bubble tea market continues to grow in the Philippines, the Taiwan Trade Center Manila (TAITRA) brings the Taiwan Bubble Tea Pavilion to the Taiwan Expo 2019, happening on November 8-9, 2019, at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City. The special exhibition will feature members of the Taiwan Bubble Tea Alliance, an organization established in 2017 by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council to unify and boost the collective strength of over 125 bubble milk tea vendors and industrial firms.
With a theme “Taiwan Bubble Tea, Bubble Up Your Life!,” the exhibition hopes to gather Filipino bubble tea fans, business franchises, and startup entrepreneurs to see and taste the latest bubble tea products from Taiwan. Highlighting different fields of the bubble tea industry—namely raw materials (e.g. tea, tapioca), packaging, equipment, total solution, and chain stores—the pavilion layout will be segmented accordingly to showcase a variety of high-quality products from alliance members. This includes top-tier suppliers Good Young Co. Ltd., Mr. Sun International Tea Chain Co. Ltd. (Red Sun), and Great Eastern Food Co. Ltd.
Good Young is set to bring its popular products Casa Milky Flavor Tea and Casa Black Tea to the exhibition. They will also showcase other services such as taste design, private labeling, OEM customization, and production technology training. Established in 1989, Good Young Co., Ltd. is a professional tea manufacturer and mainly supplies tea and coffee products to various food and beverage industries.
Meanwhile, Red Sun will be offering its franchise services for people who have a business dream. The company is greatly known in Taiwan for its innovative Heineken Green Tea, which made a historic record of 2.5 million cups sold in six months in 2005. The product, which was basically Heineken beer mixed with green tea, has a complex flavor profile topped with a beautifully frothy foam.
Finally, Great Eastern will be showcasing its one-of-a-kind pearl product made from naturally extracted ingredients. The 3Q Jelly Pearl is composed of Konjac (a kind of taro harvested directly from the mountains), natural seaweed, sugar, pectin, and Guar gum. It boasts a low-calorie count of only 70kcal/100g and can be widely used in various beverages to increase satiety.
The Taiwan Bubble Tea Pavilion intends to fully demonstrate the integrity of the overall supply chain in the Taiwan bubble tea industry, as well as to promote the expansion and export of the bubble tea industry and culture to the Philippines. Visitors are welcome to taste and experience a wide new range of Taiwan bubble tea and gain more understanding of the Taiwan bubble tea culture at the Bubble Tea Pavilion booth number 226, which will be conducting a free sampling activity during the two-day event.
Aside from this, the exhibition will also serve as an excellent opportunity for business owners to connect with industry-leading Taiwan suppliers for potential partnerships. Food industry buyers who are into retail, import, and wholesale are encouraged to participate in the Business Mix Conference happening on November 8, from 1:30 to 3:30p.m.
