Battling COVID-19 is close to impossible without our bravest and dedicated ‘frontliners’.
We all know that the medical personnel are in the frontlines in this fight against this pandemic, it is also worth commending those in the groceries, convenience stores and super mini marts as well because without them, it will be more problematic.
Despite the threat of the virus, people who are in enhanced community quarantine, praised the efforts of the other “frontliners” for giving them a sense of “normalcy” in these trying times using their social media accounts
“Alfamart will save us at this point in time,” tweeted Kristine Mae B., referring to the first and only Super Minimart Chain in the country.
Apart from the store staff, distribution center personnel and truck drivers keep the supply chain going, ensuring that all groceries, convenience stores, and super minimarts are well-stocked.
Another netizen highlighted how Alfamart cared for its employees in her encounter. When she asked about how the Alfamart cashier gets to work, she was amazed to know that they will still get wages even if they are not able to report for work
Other areas also have free shuttle service for the employees. A netizen snapped this photo of the shuttle van parked outside the employee entrance waiting to pick up passengers.
Alfamart management said that part of its mandate is to keep the working environment safe and comfortable, so it also works hard to supply disinfectant, sanitizers, and PPEs to their staff.
In this time of crisis, anyone who is still reporting to work, whether it be medical or any other service, deserves support from everyone. So don’t forget to thank the ones that serve to meet our day-to-day needs despite the looming threat of disease.
